Kaligandaki flood sweeps away nearly two dozen houses in Parbat's Jaljala

Continuous rainfall triggered a flood in the Kaligandaki river that swept away nearly two dozen houses in the Farse area of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 in Parbat.

According to Ward Chair Hirbikas GC, the flood has swept away around two dozen houses. More than 20 houses have been swept away in the Farse area so far, and the flood's intensity is increasing, officials said.

The sharp rise in the Kaligandaki's flow has damaged dozens of houses in the Waribeni, Farse and Setibeni market areas. Three settlements have been displaced by the flood.

Locals say the extent of the damage cannot be confirmed yet.
