Nepse falls again, but turnover rises

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the Nepse index fell by about 6 points to close at around 2,572 points on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week.
The market, which had surged by double digits the previous day, closed in the red after fluctuating throughout the session.
Although the index fell, turnover rose. According to the exchange, shares of about 360 companies worth nearly Rs 4 billion were traded, up from about Rs 3.13 billion on Tuesday.
The sensitive index, which tracks large companies, along with the float and sensitive float indices, also declined slightly.
Among the sub-groups, only banking rose, and only marginally, while the trading sub-group fell the most, by about 1.4 percent. The manufacturing and processing sub-group dropped by about 1 percent.
While share prices of about 167 companies fell, those of about 100 companies rose.
Ghalemdi Hydro saw the highest turnover, with shares worth about Rs 320 million traded as its price rose by about 6 percent. Reliance Spinning Mills and People's Hydropower ranked second and third in turnover. Ingwa Hydropower's price also rose by about 5 percent.
Suryakunda Hydro Electric led the decliners, with its share price falling by about 3.5 percent.
