Efforts continue to clear blocked Marsyangdi River in Manang, some houses flooded

Efforts are underway to clear the Marsyangdi River in Manang, which became blocked following continuous rainfall. The river was blocked by mud-laden rocks, gravel and sand swept down by Ghattekhola.

The blocked river is still flowing from the right and left sides of the bridge. The river has partially changed course and is now flowing over the bridge. After the river changed course over the bridge, some houses in the surrounding area were flooded.

There have been difficulties even in transporting fuel for the work of clearing the river. Various efforts are underway to fully clear the blocked river.

Manang district has been affected by the recent continuous rainfall and floods and landslides.
