Congress objects, saying government bypassed parliament to bring forest and land ordinances

After the government brought ordinances to amend forest- and land-related laws, main opposition party Nepali Congress has raised objections to them.
The government recently brought an ordinance to amend certain Nepal Acts relating to forests. An ordinance has also been brought to amend land-related law.
Congress has objected, saying these ordinances were brought by bypassing parliament. The main opposition party raised concerns that the government sought to amend laws through ordinance without discussion in parliament.
The issue has come to the center of political debate after the main opposition party formally expressed disagreement with the government's ordinance route for amending forest- and land-related laws.
