The Cricket Association of Nepal, CAN, has prepared to use the Decision Review System, or DRS, technology in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League, NPL.

At an event in Kathmandu on Friday, CAN secretary Paras Khadka said introducing the technology is estimated to cost around 15 to 20 million rupees. The cost is planned to be jointly borne by CAN and all eight participating franchise teams, drawn from the revenue-sharing portion of commercial media rights income. Secretary Khadka said this arrangement would ensure the financial burden does not fall on any single party.

He said a match could be extended by about half an hour once DRS is implemented. As a result, the schedule on double-header days, when two matches are held on the same day, may see some changes. Under the current plan, matches will start at 4:30 pm.

While a formal announcement will be made soon, Secretary Khadka clarified that the official decision will only be made public once the process is complete.
