NC establishment faction's convention at Khula Manch on Asoj 18; Deuba invited to inaugurate

The establishment faction of Nepali Congress will inaugurate its 15th general convention at Kathmandu's Khula Manch on Sunday, Asoj 18.

Although preparations were to begin from Friday, the inauguration has been pushed back by two days after continuous rain affected the election process in some places.

Work is underway to set up the stage and other structures at Khula Manch. Party spokesperson Devraj Chalise said preparations for the convention had reached their final stage and foreign guests had already begun arriving.

Speaking in an interview with Reporters' Club Nepal in Kathmandu on Thursday, he said former president Sher Bahadur Deuba had already been invited to inaugurate the event.

Spokesperson Chalise said work was proceeding in line with the party's constitution and legal process, with efforts continuing to include everyone as far as possible. He said most leaders would take part in the convention, with only a few leaders holding personal ambitions remaining outside it.
