Fake election polls in US fooled even major media outlets

As the US midterm elections approach, an outfit called "Wedgewood Polls" has admitted to fabricating data for most of its election surveys.
The fabrication came to light when polling data aggregator "FiftyPlusOne" examined Wedgewood's surveys.
The fake results had even been published by major media outlets such as The New York Times.
The revelation that polls cited by election campaigns and major media were fabricated has raised questions about the credibility of election polling.
The organization claims it did this to test how easily a fake polling company could gain public attention and trust.
Its account on X has since been removed.
