Heat killed 50,391 people in Europe this year: study

A new study has found that extreme heat during this year's summer killed 50,391 people in Europe.
According to the study, human-caused climate change is responsible for nearly two-thirds of those deaths.
Burning fossil fuels has raised temperatures, the study says, turning heat that would otherwise be merely uncomfortable into conditions that are dangerous and potentially deadly.
The study once again highlights the link between human losses from extreme heat in Europe and climate change.
