Gamgadhi-Nakchelagna road: only 18.5 km tracked in 10 years, Mugum Karmarong still without road access

Ten years after construction began on the road linking Gamgadhi, the district headquarters of Mugu, with the northern Nakchelagna border point with China, Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality still has not been connected to the road network.
More than two decades after surveying began, only 18.5 km of track has opened on the road, which is said to be 93 km long in total. The Gamgadhi-Nakchelagna road, launched with the goal of reaching the Nakchelagna border with China, has not progressed at the expected pace.
The Road Division, Jumla has signed an agreement with the Jagriti-Rara Tenzing-Norgay JV to open the track for the Nagma-Gamgadhi-Nakchelagna road project and is carrying out the work.
The slow pace of road construction has affected the daily lives of local residents. People of Mugum Karmarong remain deprived of transport facilities.
