Nepal-China railway feasibility report finalized, Rasuwa flood impact to be studied

Officials say the feasibility study report on the Nepal-China cross-border railway has been finalized. A meeting of officials from both countries to present the study's findings is likely to be held soon after Dashain.
The study, which was given about 42 months, was prepared by China, with Nepal also providing some of its own suggestions. The report comes after floods in Rasuwa caused extensive damage in areas around the railway's possible construction site.
According to one official, some of the questions raised by the Bhotekoshi flood can be addressed while preparing the detailed project report. Even after the report is handed over at the upcoming meeting, Nepali officials intend to form their position on the project only after examining aspects such as construction cost.
