About 200 livestock stranded in snow for nearly a month rescued in Humla's Limi

About 200 livestock, including yaks, that had been stranded for nearly a month after heavy snowfall have been rescued in Limi, Namkha Rural Municipality-6, in Humla. Limi is a remote settlement beyond the Himalayas in northwestern Nepal, and the animals had been taken to high pastures there for grazing.
After three consecutive days of heavy snowfall in Asoj covered the pastures, it became difficult to determine where the animals were or in what condition, making search and rescue efforts challenging.
According to ward chairperson Paljor Tamang, the rescued livestock include about 100 yaks, 50 horses, and 50 "nak" and "jhopa" (yak-cattle crossbreeds). He said the animals, which had been out of contact for a long time, were brought back after a major effort from pastures in the Ning Khola, Sakya Khola, Geu Khola and Lapcha areas.
