Floods, landslides block two national highways in Baglung

Two national highways in Baglung have been blocked since Friday evening due to floods and landslides.

The road was blocked in Jaimini Municipality along the Baglung section of the Kaligandaki Corridor, and in Nisikhola Rural Municipality along the Baglung section of the Mid-Hill Highway. With both highways blocked, vehicle movement on the district's main roads has been affected.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the system that has brought continuous rainfall for three days is now concentrated over the central and western parts of the country. The division urged high alert, saying "very heavy" rainfall was expected at one or two places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces on Saturday night.

Following the continuous rain, roads in other parts of the country have also been blocked by floods and landslides. After landslides, roads including the Prithvi Highway and the BP Highway have been blocked, leaving long-distance buses stranded at Kathmandu's New Bus Park.
