Government's conduct pushing country toward crisis, says opposition leader Angdembe

Congress parliamentary party leader and chief opposition leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has accused the government of pushing the country toward a serious crisis due to its opaque and disorderly conduct.

Speaking at the Congress provincial regional convention in Panchthar on Monday, he said the government does not appear serious about democratic values, norms and procedures. He alleged that while state bodies should operate according to law and established procedures, the government is moving in the opposite direction.

According to Angdembe, the lack of transparency in government activities has increased suspicion and disappointment among citizens. He warned that if transparency and the rule of law weaken further, the country will fall into serious crisis.

He also said the government's conduct has raised questions about the very essence of the democratic system, pointing out that the government has shown no accountability to the people over its decisions.
