Bhotekoshi flood: Bagmati asks federal government for Rs 1 billion for reconstruction

The Bagmati provincial government has decided to seek a grant of Rs 1 billion from the federal government to rebuild physical infrastructure damaged by the Bhotekoshi flood. The decision was made at Thursday's meeting of the provincial Council of Ministers.
The flood that struck the Bhotekoshi river, which flows through Rasuwa district, on Bhadra 10 had damaged various physical infrastructure within the province.
Provincial Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and government spokesperson Bharat Bahadur KC made the decision public after the meeting. According to Minister KC, the requested amount will be spent on rebuilding the infrastructure damaged within the province.
Special committees have already been formed in both houses of the federal parliament to study the Bhotekoshi disaster. The House of Representatives has formed a 15-member committee, while the National Assembly has formed a 9-member committee.
