Israeli Ambassador Smulik Ariel Bas and Karnali Province Chief Minister Mangal Bahadur Shahi held discussions on Tuesday on introducing Israeli technology into Karnali's agriculture.

Chief Minister Shahi said the courtesy meeting recalled the historic and diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel, and held in-depth discussions on the province's overall development, modern agricultural systems and technology transfer. According to him, discussions covered using the modern technology Israel has developed in agriculture in a manner suited to Karnali's geography.

The meeting also raised the issue of providing further opportunities for Karnali's youth through the "Learning while Teaching" programme. Possibilities of using the skills of Nepali workers returning from Israel for the province's agricultural transformation were also discussed.

Ambassador Bas said Israel has always been positive about increasing cooperation and partnership with Karnali in agriculture, drinking water, technology transfer and capacity building. The meeting also discussed opportunities for employing Nepalis in Israel as caregivers through government channels. Broadening relations between the peoples of the two countries and disaster management were also part of the discussion.
