Workers' health checkup fraud: Supreme Court dismisses Kailash Khadka's habeas corpus plea

A habeas corpus petition filed at the Supreme Court seeking the release of Kailash Khadka, director of an agency that conducts biometrics for workers going to Malaysia, has been dismissed.
A joint bench of Supreme Court justices Sharanga Subedi and Nripadhwoj Niraula issued the order dismissing the petition on Tuesday. The petition had been filed by Khadka's wife, Pravina.
Khadka, who is in detention in connection with a fraud case related to the health checkup of Nepali workers going abroad, will remain in custody following the court's order.
The petition had sought Khadka's release, but the joint bench rejected the demand and dismissed the writ.
