NPL: Lumbini beat Pokhara by 8 wickets to top table, Pokhara suffer third straight loss

In the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), defending champions Lumbini Lions defeated Pokhara Avengers by 8 wickets. In the second match of the day on Tuesday at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Lumbini chased down Pokhara's target of 98 runs in 11.4 overs, losing only 2 wickets with 50 balls to spare.

Batting first, Pokhara were all out for 97 runs. For Lumbini, Rubin Trumpelmann took three wickets and Tilak Bhandari took two, while Sher Malla, Rohit Paudel and Abhishek Gautam each took one wicket. Chasing the target, captain Rohit Paudel batted aggressively.

With this win, Lumbini kept their unbeaten run intact and took the top spot in the standings. Pokhara, meanwhile, suffered their third consecutive loss.

After the match, Lumbini captain Paudel said the bowling unit's performance and the understanding among the players were the main reasons behind the win.
