Exports worth Rs 76 billion in two months, soybean oil leads

According to figures released by the Department of Customs, Nepal exported goods worth about Rs 76 billion in Shrawan and Bhadau, the first two months of the current fiscal year 2083/84.

Exports stood at only about Rs 47 billion in the same period last year, marking a growth of around 61 percent.

By volume, refined soybean oil tops the export list. About 148.4 million kg of soybean oil was exported in the two months. Synthetic cloth, jute-based cloth, and wood and plywood products also feature among the top exports.

Among the top 10 export items by volume, agricultural, processed food and forest-based products dominate.
