Congress convention: no panel in central polls, lists linking my name unofficial – Gagan Thapa

Nepali Congress president and presidential candidate Gagan Thapa has said there is no panel or faction in the ongoing election for the Central Working Committee under the party's 15th convention. He raised objection on social media over lists of various candidates being circulated with his name attached.

"I request that no list of candidates being publicized as 'coming with my name' be taken as my official endorsement or recommendation," Thapa said. He urged voters not to fall for rumors and to take part in voting in a dignified, restrained and enthusiastic manner.

Congress leader Bishwa Prakash Sharma also said the candidate lists being circulated in the name of Thapa's panel were misleading. "I have learned that panel chits are being distributed claiming we made/sent them. All of those are fake. For the president and for me, all candidate colleagues are equal. We do not need to form a panel," Sharma said.

Meanwhile, presidential candidate Thapa has begun seeking votes by going to places where voters are standing in line.
