Chief Justice Sharma, IGP Karki hold nearly 45-minute meeting at Supreme Court

Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma and Nepal Police Inspector General (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki held a meeting on Tuesday. IGP Karki visited the Supreme Court to meet the Chief Justice.

According to Supreme Court sources, IGP Karki arrived at the Supreme Court around 4pm on Tuesday afternoon. Sources said the two held talks for nearly 45 minutes, though some media outlets reported the meeting lasted about 40 minutes.

The meeting comes in the wake of the episode involving former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Jabra. After information emerged of a security threat, a police team had gone to Jabra's residence in Bansbari around 1am on Sunday.

The government has claimed that Jabra was not arrested but was 'rescued' due to the security threat. Amid this, the chief of Nepal Police himself went to the Supreme Court to hold talks with the Chief Justice.
