IPU Assembly approves Nepal's emergency resolution on climate-induced disasters by two-thirds majority

Nepal's emergency resolution has been approved by a two-thirds majority at the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The assembly is being held in Arusha, Tanzania.
Nepal had submitted an emergency resolution on climate-induced disasters at the assembly. The resolution was selected with a two-thirds majority at the assembly.
The IPU is an international organization of parliaments from various countries. Parliamentary representatives from member nations take part in its assembly.
Nepal raised the issue of climate-induced disasters at a time when the country is suffering heavy damage from monsoon floods and landslides.
