India's Cockroach Party to hold 'jail bharo' protest on October 2

India's Cockroach Janata Party has announced a 'jail bharo andolan' (fill the jails movement) at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Friday, October 2.

Party founder Abhijit Deepke shared a poster of the protest on social media platform X on Monday, providing details of the program. Through the poster, the party reiterated its demand that India's Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar step down.

Questioning the functioning of the Election Commission, the party had earlier warned that it would launch the protest from October 2 if Commissioner Kumar did not resign. However, the party has not been granted permission to hold the protest in Mumbai.

Reacting to the denial of permission, founder Deepke said attempts to suppress the voice of the people would not be accepted.
