Bailey bridge construction speeds up in Syafrubesi after Bhotekoshi flood swept away bridge, target to open before Tihar

Construction of a bailey bridge that can carry vehicles in Syafrubesi, Rasuwa, is moving ahead at a fast pace. Work is being carried out with the target of bringing the bridge into operation before Tihar.
On Bhadra 10, flooding in the Bhotekoshi river swept away the permanent bridge connecting Dhunche and Syafrubesi. After the permanent bridge was washed away, construction of the new bailey bridge was accelerated to ease transportation.
The bailey bridge is being built in coordination between the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and the local administration. It is being constructed to allow not just pedestrians but also vehicles to cross.
If the bailey bridge becomes operational before Tihar, vehicle movement on the Dhunche–Syafrubesi section, which was blocked after the Bhotekoshi flood, will resume.
