Floods, landslides cause Rs 227 billion in infrastructure damage; Rs 63 billion needed immediately

Recent floods, landslides and climate-related disasters have caused preliminary damage worth Rs 227 billion to the country's infrastructure. Secretary Padma Kumar Mainali of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development gave this information.
The ministry says Rs 63 billion is needed immediately to rebuild the damaged structures. Secretary Mainali said this damage figure is a preliminary estimate.
Floods and landslides in various parts of the country in recent days have damaged roads, bridges and other infrastructure. The government is collecting details of the damage and has requested the funds needed for reconstruction.
The ministry made this information public on Asoj 20, regarding the impact of climate-related disasters on infrastructure and the need for reconstruction.
