Rain likely in many parts of Nepal for over a week starting next Tuesday

Many parts of Nepal are likely to see rain from next week, meteorologists say, pointing to the effect of a low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal.
Various weather forecasting models show rain could continue for over a week starting next Tuesday, with some areas likely to receive heavy rainfall. Meteorologist Binod Parajuli has urged people to stay alert about the possible rain.
For now, although the country is experiencing a partial effect of westerly winds, the weather will remain mostly clear in most places over the next three days, according to the Weather Forecasting Division. Light rain is possible in one or two locations.
Meanwhile, the cold has begun to set in in the Kathmandu Valley. According to division meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane, Thursday morning's reading showed the valley's minimum temperature had dropped.
