One dead, three missing as landslide buries houses in Mathagadhi, Palpa

A landslide buried houses at separate locations in Mathagadhi Rural Municipality of Palpa, killing one person and leaving three others missing.

According to the District Police Office, Palpa, 75-year-old Sherbahadur Chidi died last night when a landslide buried a house in Rupse, Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-2.

Similarly, a landslide this morning buried the house of local resident Lilbahadur Ghartimagar in Bhasakatta, Ward No. 3 of the same rural municipality. Three members of the same family have gone missing in the incident. The landslide had come down from above the house due to continuous rainfall.

The condition of those missing is not yet known. Due to the continuous rainfall, the risk of landslides remains high in various parts of the district.
