Officer among four charged with taking 2.8 million rupees for food import permits

A corruption case has been filed against four people, including Arjun Adhikari, food research officer at the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, Babarmahal.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed the charge sheet at the Special Court, Kathmandu, on Monday. Along with officer Adhikari, Basantakumar Bastyal Kshetri, Suresh Chaudhary and Rashmita Shrestha have been made defendants in the case.

According to the Commission's charge, 2.8 million rupees had been taken on the pretext of arranging permission and approval for food import.

With the charge sheet filed along with the case, the matter will now be heard at the Special Court.
