Sunkoshi bridge linking Kavre and Sindhupalchok stalled for 6 years

The under-construction concrete bridge over the Sunkoshi River at Chherre, linking Kavrepalanchok and Sindhupalchok, has remained stalled for six years. The bridge remains incomplete because the contractor failed to finish the work within the stipulated time.

According to the agreement, the bridge construction was to be completed within three years, that is by Jestha 2, 2080 BS. However, it is said that the work has been stalled because the contractor has been delaying it.

Even long after the stipulated deadline has passed, the bridge construction has not been completed, and as a result, travel between the two districts has not become easier.

With the bridge left incomplete, the residents of Bhumlu have been forced to suffer hardship.
