Congress convention: Dr. Minendra Rijal announces candidacy for vice president

Nepali Congress leader Dr. Minendra Rijal has announced that he will contest for the post of vice president of the party. He is set to compete for the position at the 15th general convention, which is currently under way in Kathmandu.

On Tuesday morning, Rijal informed people of his decision to run for vice president. He had told leaders and workers close to him about the decision.

Rijal reached the conclusion to contest for vice president only shortly before the nomination registration process for selecting the new working committee began today.

Rijal is a central member of Nepali Congress.
