Leader Bimalendra Nidhi declares Congress formally split, says 'time has come to build a new house'

Nepali Congress Deuba-faction leader Bimalendra Nidhi has declared that the party has formally split.

Speaking at a programme organised in Janakpur, leader Nidhi made the declaration. At the event, he said, "The time has come to build a new house."

In his speech, he also raised the issue of a special general convention.

Nidhi made this declaration on Thursday, while voting was underway to elect a new central working committee under the Nepali Congress's 15th general convention.
