From the space station to Trump: possible contenders for the Nobel Peace Prize

Names ranging from the International Space Station to US President Donald Trump are being discussed as possible contenders for this year's Nobel Peace Prize.
According to the news agency AP, around 300 candidates have been nominated for the prize this time. The Norwegian Nobel Committee will announce the winner on Friday, October 9.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms, and Ukrainian children's rights advocate Mykola Kuleba are also among the possible contenders. The names of Save the Children and the Committee to Protect Journalists, which works for the safety of journalists, have also come up in discussions.
Hakon Gerlauf, director of the Peace Research Institute Oslo, said the space station is a rare example of shared endeavor at a time when cooperation between countries is shrinking.
The announcement comes as wars continue in Sudan, Ukraine, Yemen, Iran and the Middle East.
