Kaligandaki erosion sweeps away fiber pole, cutting off communication in Myagdi, Baglung and Mustang

Erosion by the Kaligandaki River has swept away a fiber pole, cutting off communication links in Myagdi, Baglung and Mustang districts of the Dhawalagiri region. Services were disrupted after the river eroded the bank and swept away the fiber pole at Sahasradhara in Kushma Municipality-1, Parbat.

Daily life has been affected in all three districts as Nepal Telecom's mobile, landline and internet services, along with internet services of private companies, have been disrupted.

Following Sunday's flood in the Kaligandaki River, the Madhyapahadi Lokmarg, which connects Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang of the Dhawalagiri region to the national road network, has also been blocked at several points. With both road and communication links affected, residents of these districts are facing difficulties.
