Both gold and silver prices rose in the Nepali market today, Sunday, the day of Ghatasthapana. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations, hallmark gold became costlier by about Rs 800 per tola on the week's first trading day.

The federation has fixed today's trading price of hallmark gold at around Rs 296,500 per tola. On the previous trading day, Friday, gold had traded at about Rs 295,700 per tola. On Friday too, the price of gold had risen by about Rs 2,900 per tola.

This means gold has become costlier by about Rs 3,700 per tola over the last two trading days. The price of silver also rose by about Rs 35 per tola today.

The federation said silver, which stood at about Rs 4,405 per tola on Friday, is trading at about Rs 4,440 today. In the international market, gold is trading at about $4,194 per ounce and silver at about $61 per ounce today.
