Beni-Jomsom road reopens, 173 containers of Chinese imports head to destinations

After the Beni-Jomsom road in Mustang reopened to traffic, 173 containers have departed from there toward their destinations. The containers left over a two-day period.
The containers are carrying goods imported from China. They have headed toward urban areas including Pokhara and Kathmandu.
Efforts to fully reopen the road are still ongoing. According to stakeholders, road repair work is nearly complete, but rain has been making it difficult for vehicles to operate.
When the road was blocked, there were problems transporting goods that had arrived from China. Now that the road has reopened, the containers that had been held up have started moving toward their destinations.
