Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal today conducted an on-site inspection of the Kaligandaki corridor, which was damaged by monsoon disasters. Minister Lamsal travelled through Gulmi, Baglung, Parbat and Myagdi up to Mustang to assess the condition of the road section.

During the inspection, Minister Lamsal expressed commitment that there would be no shortage of budget for the reconstruction of structures damaged by the disaster.

Tejaswi Sharma, chief of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road project, said the floods and landslides had caused damage worth about 900 million rupees to the road. According to him, it is estimated that around 4 billion rupees will be required to reconstruct the damaged road.

The Kaligandaki corridor is the main road linking Gulmi to Mustang. This year's monsoon floods and landslides damaged various sections of the corridor.
