Father's sarangi led him to tabla: Bhuwan Gandharva's beats on 25,000-plus songs

Tabla player Bhuwan Gandharva has so far provided the tabla beats for more than 25,000 songs.
His father, Jangabahadur Gandharva, is a well-known Nepali sarangi player. Despite the family's musical legacy, Bhuwan chose the tabla instead of the sarangi.
It was his wish to match the rhythm to his father's sarangi that led him to become a tabla player. Playing tabla was his passion, and he turned it into his profession.
He says that even among thousands of songs, he can recognize the ones he has played as soon as he hears them.
A third generation of the Gandharva family is now connected to tabla as well: Bhuwan's 12-year-old son, Ridam, is also playing tabla, carrying forward his father's legacy.
