Even on Bada Dashain, the stream of youths leaving for jobs and studies abroad continues

Even during Bada Dashain, Nepal's major festival, the trend of young people going abroad for employment, studies and other work continues.

Even amid the festivities of Dashain, reunions with family, and receiving tika and jamara from elders, the travel of youths abroad has not stopped. The day after Vijaya Dashami, the second day of Dashain, a stream of youths leaving for foreign countries was still visible.

Lakhan Kumar Yadav of Siraha, who is headed abroad for employment, said he had to go abroad because there were not enough employment opportunities in Nepal.

Even while families celebrate Dashain together, young people continue to leave home for foreign countries in search of jobs and education.
