Madhyapur Thimi's Khan Pihawaigu (Kubhindo) Jatra, evoking Malla-era warfare, concludes

The Khan Pihawaigu Jatra, which evokes the warfare of the Malla era, concluded in Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur, on Thursday. Known as "Khan" in the Newar language, this jatra is also called Kubhindo Jatra.
The festival is celebrated on Papankush Ekadashi, the day after Vijaya Dashami. Held at Balkumari in Madhyapur Thimi, the jatra's origins are linked to the Taleju temple at Thimi's Layaku Durbar, tracing back to the day of Ghatasthapana.
The jatra begins from the Dyochhen of Taleju Bhawani at Layaku, once the royal palace. The festival features displays of Malla-era martial arts.
Held every year on the Ekadashi of Bada Dashain, the jatra draws large crowds of spectators, including locals, each year.
