Dharan records 262.5 million rupees in goat and buck trade this Dashain

The agricultural produce market at Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-13 has recorded goat and buck trade worth 262.5 million rupees this year, targeted at the Bada Dashain festival.

Farmers and traders from the hill districts of Koshi Province bring goats and bucks to sell at this market.

Last year, during Dashain of 2082, the same market recorded goat and buck trade worth 230 million rupees. Accordingly, this year's trade has increased by about 32.5 million rupees.

Market managers say that since meat consumption rises during Dashain, trade at Dharan's goat and buck market grows every year. As demand for goats and bucks is high during Dashain, the movement of farmers and traders at the market increases during this period.
