Nepali Congress convention voting extended by two hours to 5 pm

Voting time for electing a new central working committee under Nepali Congress's 15th convention has been extended by two hours.
According to a notice issued by Central Election Committee member-secretary Raju Katuwal, voting that was earlier set to end at 3 pm will now continue until 5 pm.
The time was extended because it takes at least half an hour for one representative to cast their vote, and long queues had formed at the centers.
The process has been prolonged because representatives must vote in 23 clusters, including for president, vice-president, general secretary, deputy general secretary and central members.
According to the election committee, about 3,750 of roughly 7,300 representatives had voted by 2:30 pm. That number stood at about 2,600 by 12:30 pm.
Representatives from Bagmati province are casting votes at the National Assembly building, while representatives from other provinces are voting at Khula Manch and other centers. By 2:30 pm, about 730 votes had been cast from Bagmati, and about 730 votes had also been cast from Sudurpashchim, Karnali and the Public Relations Committee.
