Morang seizes passports of 10 foreigners for running health camp on tourist visa
Ten foreign nationals have had their passports seized in Morang on charges of running a health camp in Nepal on tourist visas without obtaining the necessary permission.
They were staying at Bargachhi in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-7 of Morang. The District Administration Office, Morang, seized their passports on Wednesday and sent them to the Department of Immigration for further action.
They are accused of running the health camp for a Christian mission. Reports have also indicated that they were taken into custody.
Action was taken against them on the grounds that engaging in activities other than tourism while on a tourist visa violates the terms of the visa. Details of which country the foreigners are from have not been made available so far.
