Iran-Pakistan border trade and movement temporarily suspended

Cross-border movement and trade between Iran and Pakistan have been temporarily suspended due to technical problems and security concerns.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Saturday that movement was suspended because certain technical issues and precautionary measures were needed.
According to Iranian news agency IRNA, officials from both countries are working together to normalize the border crossing soon.
Pakistan has halted trade through the official crossings of Gabd-Rimdan and Taftan since Friday. According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, trade was stopped after the Ministry of Commerce revoked an order issued on October 3 and issued a new notice.
Shahid Rind, media and political affairs adviser to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, said the crossings were closed to strengthen security, curb smuggling and streamline border administration.
