The Palestinian Prisoners' Society has said Israeli forces have arrested more than 2,000 Palestinian children since October 2023. According to a report released by the human rights organization on Wednesday, at least 350 children are currently held in harsh conditions in Israeli prisons.

Citing the report, news agency Al Jazeera said Israel has intensified its targeting of children. The report states that Israeli forces arrested at least six children in Hebron in the West Bank on Tuesday. The Hebron area is currently under Israeli military control.

The organization said it does not have confirmed figures for how many children have been detained in the besieged Gaza Strip, noting that thousands of people, including children, have gone missing there and that a policy of enforced disappearance remains in effect, making the data unclear.

The report notes that Israel's policy of holding detainees without charge and without a set release date violates children's rights.
