Rajesh Hamal objects to Finance Minister Waglay's remarks, says he 'overstepped his official limits'

Senior actor Rajesh Hamal has strongly objected to remarks recently made by Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle in New Delhi.
Commenting on social media on Monday, Hamal said the finance minister had overstepped ministerial limits by speaking on Nepal-India relations. He also said foreign policy was not a matter for any individual's personal discretion.
Hamal took the position that no office-holder should make statements that affect national interest and Nepal's international standing. He also accused the finance minister's remarks of harming the country's sovereignty and the dignity of his office.
Noting that historical complexities such as border issues and economic interdependence exist between Nepal and India, he urged the government to move forward on a fact-based footing through established diplomatic channels rather than rhetoric.
