Zelensky meets frontline troops near Lyman

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Lyman area in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday to meet troops stationed on the frontline.
During the visit, he presented state awards to soldiers who had completed operations in the Lyman area, he said on social media. He also discussed the operations being carried out by military units with the relevant brigade commanders.
President Zelensky claimed Ukrainian forces have regained control of parts of the territory around Lyman, saying the action was part of a resistance operation codenamed "Operation Vivaldi."
Zelensky has repeatedly visited war front areas since Russia's invasion in February 2022. A "kill zone" that has spread across the eastern front has made it difficult for troops on both sides to advance, with explosive drones used to monitor military movement and carry out targeted strikes. Both sides have managed only very limited gains along this front.
