Zelensky urges tougher sanctions on Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that stronger sanctions and greater international pressure on Russia are needed, as Russian attacks continue in Kyiv and other regions.

Writing on social media platform X on Sunday, President Zelensky said Russian jet-engine drones struck two childcare centers, two schools, residential buildings, a car repair center, a warehouse and communication infrastructure in the capital, Kyiv.

He said Russia had used about 277 attack drones since the previous day, of which around 155 were jet-engine powered. He said a building used as the residence of Saudi Arabia's ambassador in Kyiv, a sports school in Dnipro, and a regional children's home in Sumy were also damaged.

He described such attacks on civilian infrastructure as terrorism.
