Traffic police return 50 missing, stolen two-wheelers to owners in Kathmandu Valley

Traffic police have recovered 50 two-wheelers that had gone missing or been stolen from various parts of Kathmandu Valley and returned them to their owners.
At a programme held at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office on Friday, office chief, Senior Superintendent of Police Suresh Prasad Kafle, handed over 25 motorcycles and 25 scooters. Police said the vehicles were traced based on complaints filed at different times.
According to spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi, 303 two-wheelers have been traced and returned to their owners so far this fiscal year. Thirty-four people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in motorcycle theft and sent to the district police office for further investigation. During the operation, three four-wheelers and two motorcycles were sent to the customs office.
Chief Kafle said vehicle owners themselves must be careful about security. He suggested not parking vehicles in isolated or random locations and installing security devices, including GPS trackers. He also urged people to immediately inform traffic police if their vehicle goes missing or is stolen.
