Kavre bans tipper trucks on main and feeder roads throughout Tihar

Tipper trucks have been barred from operating on main and feeder roads in Kavrepalanchok district throughout the Tihar festival.

The Kavrepalanchok District Administration Office issued a public notice announcing the decision. According to Assistant Chief District Officer Mahendra Bishwakarma, the decision was taken at a meeting of the District Security Committee held on Kartik 19.

Under the decision, tippers cannot operate within the district from 5 am on Kartik 22 to 9 pm on Kartik 26, which corresponds to November 8 to 12.

The ban applies to the district's main and feeder roads, including the BP Highway and the Araniko Highway. Assistant Chief District Officer Bishwakarma said the step was taken to ease the increased traffic during the festival season and reduce the risk of road accidents.

He said the decision is also aimed at making the movement of passenger vehicles easier. The administration has requested all concerned parties not to operate tippers on roads during the specified period.
