Bailey bridge being installed at Arughat where flood swept away bridge

Work to install a Bailey bridge has been expedited at the site in Arughat where a bridge was damaged by flooding in the Budhi Gandaki river. The bridge connects Gorkha and Dhading districts.
Vehicle movement on the road section has been halted after floods swept away about 22 meters of the bridge's Gorkha side.
The temporary bridge is being built in coordination between the Nepali Army and the Gorkha Road Project. With the goal of restoring transport service immediately, preparations have been made to complete installation of the Bailey bridge today.
Gorkha falls under Gandaki Province and Dhading under Bagmati Province. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rain with thunder is likely today at one or two locations in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces. Partly cloudy skies are forecast for the hilly regions of these provinces tomorrow.
