Dakar Youth Olympics: Swimmers Arya and Abhiv carry Nepal's flag

Swimmers Arya Maharjan and Abhiv Pradhan carried Nepal's flag at the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympics, which began in Dakar, Senegal.

At the colorful ceremony held late Saturday night, athletes from 204 nations, including Nepal, along with the Youth Refugee Olympic Team, took part in the march-past. This is the first time the Olympic Games are being held on African soil.

Both flag bearers had also represented Nepal at the recently concluded Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Nepal is taking part in three sports — swimming, wushu, and judo — in the competition running from October 31 to November 13.
